This is a special E-News! I can’t believe Paraclete has been in full time service to Law Enforcement for only 7 months and to see what God is doing because of you. I wanted to send a special update for those that are our financial supporters. I wanted you to know the incredible impact you are making possible through your generosity and support.
Because of you…I am able to serve our officers when THEY are working, to give over 600 hours, riding all three shifts, in all but 2 of our 8 Precincts and am honored to be the Unit Chaplain for SAU (Special Assignments Unit otherwise known as SWAT). I have been welcomed into their briefings, their Patrol vehicles, their lives and the lives of their families.
Because of you… I can ride with an officer for the entire 10 hours shift to build a relationship of trust, appreciate them for what they do, encourage them as they do it, and minister as the need arises.
Because of you… Over the last 7 months, I have been able to build the trust with the Department that has moved Paraclete to the top of the Call out list for when an officer or their family need help. Because of you, making it possible for me to be available immediately when the need arises, I have been able to minister during some very difficult times, days and times that others are simply not available. You make it possible for me to meet officers and their families regardless of it being 2:30am or 2:30pm, you allow me to fulfill my commitment of “Anytime, Anywhere”
A few of the saddest opportunities, have included one of our officers committing suicide and another, a horrific attempt, along with serving officers and their families during and after the loss of loved ones. You made it possible for me to come alongside family members both day and night, bring hope and presence at hospitals, homes, or the honor of facilitating funeral services.
Our officers have had a rash of incidents involving the death of children, and many senseless tragedies. You have made it possible for me to come along side our officers on scene, and then walk with them over the following days and weeks as they come to terms with these disturbing images, burned into their minds.
One of the biggest threats to our officers is on the home front and thanks to you I have been called upon to come alongside officers and their families during marriages in crisis. So often, people believe that just because someone has walked out that the marriage is over. Instead, I have the privilege of helping them overcome the things that caused the problems and then come back together in the love they were meant to live. Marriages can and are being saved!
There are also the incredibly encouraging times. The highlight, Praying with an officer to accept Christ, baptizing whole families or children of our officers. The great privilege to be called upon to pray with officers about important decisions, promotions and transfers, because I am present in their places of work and available when they have need. Still, the largest amount of my time is invested in restoring marriages and I can share with you God is blessing this and we have already seen two marriages restored that were on the brink of divorce.
